Reviews!

I’m alive!  I am so sorry that it’s been a few weeks since I last posted.  I was on my trip to NYC and then got back and left again for a work trip to MI.  I am finally back in town, caught up on everything, and ready to start talking about beauty products!  NYC was a blast and I tried out a few great things that I want to tell you about.

Ole Henriksen Protect the Truth SPF 50+ ($35.00) - This lightweight, oil-free sunscreen is sheer enough to wear under any daily moisturizer without feeling heavy. Made with Ole Henriksen’s Solar Active Complex™, this product includes multiple ingredients to protect skin from environmental aggressors and harmful UVA and UVB rays. It also boosts skin’s natural repair function to address pre-existing damage.

I received this in the Sephora Sun Care Kit I ordered at the start of summer and I love it!  I have been wearing it whenever I am going to be in the sun for an extended amount of time and I haven’t had any issues with sunburn.  It doesn’t cause me to breakout or feel like I have sunscreen on my face.  And even in NYC when I was sweating like crazy this stuff stayed on my face all day.  Definitely recommend!

Redken Soft Spin 05 (discontinued) - Lightweight gel boosts fine curls with healthy bounce.  Features the curl-care complex with avocado oil to define curls, control flyaways, and add soft, crunch-free shine.

This stuff is great!  It gives my curls definition without weighing them down.  I literally had a stranger stop me at work after using this to tell my that my curls looked great.  Unfortunately this product has been discontinued.  I guess I will have to settle for non-stranger stopping curls now.  Sorry to waste your time reviewing something that doesn’t exist, but I am sad about it and wanted to share my misery.

Marvis Toothpaste ($6.00) - Imported from Italy, this stylish toothpaste makes brushing your teeth anything but routine.

Regular readers may recall that I was somewhat disappointed when I received this ridiculously overpriced toothpaste in my Birchbox a few months ago.  I packed it for my NYC trip.  I have to say, it was THE MOST AMAZING TOOTHPASTE of my life!!  Not.  It was fine and had a minty flavor.  It is not worth the price.

Whish Shave Cream ($20.00) - This decadent shave cream from whish one-ups its competitors. Made in the U.S. with eco-friendly ingredients, the non-drying formula gives you a mighty close shave without leaving legs devoid of moisture.

I really liked this shave cream.  It helped my razor glide smoothly and it left my legs feeling moisturized.  I love the smell of it so much!  I had the blueberry scent, and it smells awesome.  All that being said, it’s quite pricey for shave cream.  I use a razor with built in shave cream anyway, so I will not be purchasing this product.

Klorane Dry Shampoo ($18.00) - Made with softening oat milk extracts, plus corn and rice starches, this ultra-fine powder spray leaves nary a trace of residue behind.

I have tried many brands of dry shampoo and this is hands down my all time favorite.  It smells great, it works great, and it doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry.  It is also $18 per can.  I can’t stop thinking about this dry shampoo, and I think it will be my next Birchbox points purchase.  In the meantime I am using the new Suave Keratin dry shampoo and I like it alright.  I like it better than the original Suave, although the original smells better.

Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain ($8.99) - A pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon by Revlon.

My cousin had this on her lips when we were hanging out in NYC.  I noticed that after bebopping around the city in 140 degree heat for hours she still had lip color.  It turns out she was using this lip stain, and she let me try it.  It’s easy to apply and really lasts without being too drying.  She gave me one that I have been using and liking, and I just received another in a box that I will be reviewing for you all this week.  I highly recommend this stain for long lasting color.

I hope you all enjoy the reviews, and I will be posting a lot more this week.  I am done with travel and I have all sorts of goodies to tell you about!
